The Pen and Ink Artwork of Gary Evans

     Paper and ink. It's that simple. My love for pen and ink drawings came about thirty years ago. I saw this incredible illustration of a tarantula. It was composed of thousands of dots and was exceptionally detailed. It was done by an art student and it showed what could be achieved with just paper and ink. Being a teenager at the time, I knew I could find paper...and I had a lot of pens, I saw this as the art medium that I had to explore.

     I never saw that tarantula illustration again, but the bold contrast between light and dark burnt that image in my brain. This site is a sample of what I was able to achieve...so far.
